Project Details

The project involves the development of sludge composting centers in Castelo Branco and Évora, each with a capacity to process 12,000 tons of waste sludge per year. These centers are part of an initiative by the Waters of the Tagus Valley to enhance waste management and promote sustainable practices. The sludge composting centers are designed to treat and convert waste sludge from wastewater treatment plants into high- quality compost. This process not only reduces the volume of waste but also produces a valuable soil amendment that can be used in agriculture and landscaping.
