Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) Center for the Selective Collection of Municipal Solid Waste of Porto Area (Portugal)

The work undertaken aimed to increase treatment capacity by replacing equipment in the mechanical treatment plant and by equipment in mechanical treatment and with the revitalization of Pulpers and accessory equipment in biological treatment.

Client: Gibb Portugal

Timeframe: 2018

Phases:

  • Preliminary studies

Project Details

The project aims to enhance waste management and energy production in Dakar by integrating advanced waste treatment technologies with renewable energy generation. The MBT center will process municipal solid waste (MSW) to recover valuable materials and produce refuse-derived fuel (RDF), while the thermoelectric power plant will utilize both RDF and conventional fuels to generate electricity. The key components of the MBT center are: Waste Sorting and Separation, Biological Treatment, Refuse- Derived Fuel (RDF) Production, and the key components of the Thermoelectric Power Plan are: Dual-Fuel Engines and Electricity Generation. This project represents a comprehensive approach to waste management and renewable energy production.
