From Europe to Africa and the Middle East, we develop advanced waste-to-energy systems, biogas and biomass recovery solutions, and circular economy infrastructures that directly reduce environmental impact and improve resource efficiency.

Every project is designed to deliver concrete efficiency gains, lower environmental impact, and increase profitability. We focus on impact by using metrics that are clear, less energy waste, fewer emissions, better business outcomes.

STEERIN drives sustainability by delivering innovative, impact-oriented solutions that optimize resource use, reduce waste, and accelerate the shift to a circular economy. Through advanced waste-to-energy systems, renewable energy integration, and resource recovery technologies, STEERIN helps businesses and communities adopt practices that cut emissions, save costs, and extend the life of materials. 

Rooted in circular economy principles, its projects close resource loops, reduce reliance on virgin inputs, and enhance the efficient use of energy, water, and raw materials. By supporting smarter waste management and cleaner energy infrastructure, STEERIN contributes to more resilient, low-impact urban development.

Carbon Emissions Reduction

STEERIN helps reduce carbon emissions by developing waste-to-energy, biogas, composting, and energy recovery projects that turn waste and biomass into renewable energy. By avoiding landfilling and replacing fossil fuels, these solutions cut greenhouse gas emissions and improve resource efficiency.  Across all projects, STEERIN’s work contributes to an estimated reduction of 250,000 to 300,000 tons of CO₂ equivalent per year.

Climate Change Mitigation

STEERIN contributes to climate change prevention and mitigation by implementing projects that reduce emissions, recover energy from waste, and support the transition to renewable energy. Its solutions help to lower reliance on fossil fuels, reduce methane from landfills, and promote circular practices. Overall, STEERIN’s work actively supports climate resilience and mitigation, avoiding an estimated 250,000 to 300,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually while fostering more sustainable and low-carbon systems.

Community Development

STEERIN contributes to community development by delivering infrastructure projects that improve public health, create local jobs, and enhance environmental quality. For example, projects like the MUSAMI ECOPARQUE in the Azores and the sludge composting units in Évora and Castelo Branco have created regional waste management hubs that support local employment, promote resource recovery, and provide cleaner energy or compost for agriculture. These initiatives demonstrate STEERIN’s role in building more resilient, healthier, and economically empowered communities.
